2x Paralympic Champion, 3x World Champion, 4x European Champion, World Record Holder and Breast Cancer Campaigner

Erin Kennedy MBE (née Wysocki-Jones) is a Coxswain with the GB Rowing Team and steers the Mix4+ as a member of the Paralympic Rowing Squad. She is a member of Leander Club in Henley-on-Thames and has trained full time with the GB Rowing Team since 2016 in both the Olympic and Paralympic Pathway.

Erin won Gold at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, making her the first and only coxswain to hold the Paralympic, World and European Championship titles at one time. She was awarded an MBE in the 2022 New Year’s Honours List for Services to Rowing.

In May 2022, Erin was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 29 and is an advocate for early detection and diagnosis. She continued competing during chemotherapy, winning Gold at the 2022 European Championships. Erin returned to international competition in 2023 following a double mastectomy and 15 rounds of chemotherapy, winning the 2023 European Championships exactly a year to the day that she was diagnosed.

Erin is returned back to training full-time following the all clear in early 2023 and has been unbeaten internationally in every international event competition she has attended, adding three more European and World titles to her name.

She achieved her goal of competing at the Paris 2024 Paralympics and also claimed both the Paralympic Record and World Record after a blisteringly fast heat. On the 1st September, Erin and her crew won Gold, becoming Paralympic Champions once again.

Erin is the only coxswain to retain the title of Paralympic Champion.
